Great question! I took Diamox preventatively and had portable oxygen tanks. Honestly though, nothing prepares you for that first day in Lhasa – just plan to do NOTHING that day!

@RoadTripQueen Renting was straightforward through a local agency. The only “hidden” thing was the hefty deposit (about $1500) which was refunded when we returned the car scratch-free!
