They are saying, &#8220;We are still here, we still remember our ancestors, and we still belong to this land.&#8221; It is a beautiful, defiant act of cultural preservation. And that is why the wealthy landlords paddle alongside the younger generation. It is a shared duty, a collective responsibility to keep the flame alive. Experiencing this firsthand has completely changed how I view Chinese culture.
